Project background
To provide access to basic health care services, water & sanitation solutions and Improve Maternal health for Mother & Child for the community of Kikopey with an estimated population of over 15,000 people including women & Children who used to take one to two hours to access the nearest District hospital in Gilgil town.
The project came to an end on 10th April 2017 when Rotary Club of Hurlingham (RCH) handed over the health centre to the community. This was a rotary grant and in Partnership with the Rotary Club of Alkmaar in the Netherlands; Rotary Club of Bath in the United Kingdom
Project Impact
To enhance health infrastructure of local communities; improve the capacity of local health care professionals; and promote disease prevention programs that will limit the spread of communicable diseases, reduce incidences/complications from non-communicable diseases and reduce maternal deaths of mothers & Children
