Project background
To construct a large artificial rain water catchment area and water storage tank to hygienically capture enough rain water to serve an entire community; and economically empower the women of the community once the water project has freed up their time spent fetching water. Ng’amuriak is an arid and semi arid area with short rainy season adversely affected by water challenges as the nearest source of water is a borehole 6km away with high levels of fluoride not fit for human consumption. This was through a Rotary District Grants; Rotary Foundation; Rotary Club of Win-donau in Austria and was handed over in March 2018
Project Impact
To provide equitable community access to safe water; improve sanitation and hygiene; and strengthen the ability of communities to establish and maintain sustainable water and sanitation systems.
