The 90 days have been exciting leading this great team and I am honoured to be the 33rd President of the Rotary Club of Hurlingham. I would like to thank Immediate Past President Martin Okuthe for steering RCH through Covid-19, it was tough and RCH remained strong.
In September 2014 I joined RC Hurlingham, I had several clubs to choose from my large rotary network, the warmth in RCH was magnetic and it has been a fulfilling journey since. We have FUN as we serve, as it is the only way to enjoy serving above self. Among the things I have learnt along the way is to be professional beggar and the cost of nails and paints thanks to Rotary projects. It is where you learn things that you were not taught in class. My network is much larger and it grows every day.
My board and I have made a commitment to reach out more to the community through the projects in the 1st quarter of this rotary 2021/2022, we have reached out to communities in Kikopey, Nakuru County, Yatta in Kitui County, Dagoretti Kiambu County, Mwiki Nairobi Country through various projects. There are many more projects to come. We thank our partners in the various projects, past and present in giving a hand in empowering our communities.
We continue to reach more youth through mentorship, supporting our two Rotaract club’s (Rac Hurlingham and Rac TUK) achieve their goals and chartering Interact and more Rotaract clubs, since we all know that the youth are the future and we are here because someone invested in our youth.
In this year, we call upon you to be more engaged “If our hopes of building a better and safer world are to become more than wishful thinking, we will need the engagement of volunteers more than ever.” — Kofi Annan
