Project background

To purchase customized physiotherapy equipment from the Association for the Physically Disabled of Kenya (APDK) for St Peter’s School for the Disabled, which is a charitable non-profit institution, to facilitate better quality of life and movement of the 35 students currently enrolled. St Peter’s caters for children from the slums of Kibagare and Kangemi with severe and multiple disabilities most of whom are either orphaned or abandoned by their parents. The project came to an end on 22nd July 2016 when Rotary Club of Hurlingham handed over the equipment to St Peter’s School

Project Impact

To facilitate better integration of the disabled children into day to day activities; to facilitate the development of the disabled children’s education and life skills; and to enable the caregivers of the disabled children time to engage in other social-economic activities.
